The Students Council Elections are a much awaited part of our Annual Calender. Students elect for themselves, their leaders for the posts of the President(II PUC student), the General Secretary(I PUC student), the Vice President and the General Sectetary(Both from std X). Students willing to take up posts file their nominations with the returning officer. Few days are given for the candidates who wish to withdraw their nomination for any reason. Then on, campaigning is allowed during the leisure hours, with strictly, no slogan shouting. The afternoon previous to the D Day is dedicated to election speeches. Students speak in favour of the candidates and appeal to the students in favour of their candidates. Election posters are creatively drawn and displayed on the notice board.
On the D Day, each eligible student casts his vote in a private cabin, as per his own will and wish. The same afternoon, the votes are counted in front of the whole institution and the results are announced. The office bearers take oath of office a few days later at an official function.
